About
Located in northern Manhattan’s Fort Tryon Park, just a short walk from The Cloisters museum & gardens, the New Leaf Restaurant & Bar is truly unique – an upscale, urban dining experience set amidst the park’s towering trees, beautiful gardens and historic structures. Whether you are joining us for lunch or dinner in our intimate dining room, weekend brunch on our outdoor garden patio or signature cocktails in our first-class bar and lounge – the New Leaf truly has something for everyone.
In 2001, the New Leaf – formerly a New York City Department of Parks & Recreation concession – was re-imagined by Bette Midler’s New York Restoration Project (NYRP), a non-profit organization dedicated to reclaiming and restoring New York City’s parks, community gardens and open space. Since its opening, Midler and NYRP have transformed the restaurant into a groundbreaking venture from which all net proceeds support the organization’s cleaning and greening efforts – making a dining experience at the New Leaf charitable and environmentally responsible, as well as enjoyable!
The New Leaf offers a modern American menu, created by Executive Chef Scott Campbell, which features seasonal dishes made from only the finest locally grown ingredients and inspired by NYRP’s 55 community gardens. Guests dine in an unparalleled atmosphere of comfort and serenity provided by the restaurant’s cottage-like ambiance and gorgeous green surroundings.
Located on one of the highest points in Manhattan and surrounded by picturesque Fort Tryon Park, the New Leaf is an ideal location for dinner, lunch and weekend brunch; special occasions, weddings and other private events. The combined appeal of the New Leaf’s innovative and inventive American fare and its charming surroundings make it a perfect destination for a summer outing, mid-winter get-a-way or any seasonal sojourn. The picturesque outdoor dining patio is one of the largest and most luxurious in Manhattan, making weekend brunch at the New Leaf a truly divine experience!
